Community Ministries

Matthew 25:40 - The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’

As believers in Jesus Christ, we want to serve others.  Not because we're "earning our salvation"--that's a free gift from God.  But, because He blessed us so richly, we want to bless others.

Whether it's our Clothes Closet, Car Care Clinic, Family Fun Nights, Community Picnic, Kids’ Club, Youth Group or Bible Studies (and that's only the short list), we hope to do everything for the glory of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Clothes Closet

Thanks to generous donations from our members and friends, we are able to maintain a regular supply of good used clothing.  We make this clothing available to whoever needs it—people come from as far away as Elk River.  The Clothes Closet is open every Tuesday from 9:30am until noon except during the summer months. Click here for a list of items we accept and some we can’t.

Weekly Devotional

Before the Clothes Closet opens, we invite the Clothes Closet clients and volunteers to learn more about the Bible and why we love Jesus so much. We meet from 8:45-9:30 am every Tuesday morning that the Clothes Closet is open.

Community Picnic

Once a year we throw a big picnic and invite the neighborhood. We want to get to know our neighbors and enjoy fun stuff like hot dogs, cotton candy, snow cones, dunk tanks and inflatables together. It’s a big hit each and every year.

Car Care Clinic

We want to demonstrate our faith through action by helping members of our community in need of basic automobile maintenance. Once a month our caring grease monkeys do oil changes and fluid refills as needed for those being referred by VEAP (a local non-profit agency serving low-income families, individuals, elderly and disabled persons in the communities of Bloomington, Edina, Richfield, and South Minneapolis).

MOPS

MOPS stands for “Mothers Of Preschoolers” and it can be a life saver for moms who are craving some adult interaction. The Moppets (that’s our cherished infant & toddlers) are cared for by loving volunteers in a preschool-like setting while the moms enjoy community with other moms, mentoring from moms who have gone before and practical teaching in relevant areas. Oh, and we have lots of fun too!
