Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have to be a Christian to participate in Oxboro’s student ministries?
You do not have to be a Christian. We are unashamed in our love for Jesus Christ here, both as students and leaders but we do not expect you to be. You can be assured there is something different going on in our lives compared to the world so come and check out what is so different.
How do you choose the leaders for student ministries?
There are two overarching qualities we want in our leaders. We want: 1) Leaders who have a genuine love for God while actively looking to grow in their own faith and 2) Leaders who have a burden for the youth of today in order to assist in their joys and struggles. In order to further assist and give credibility to our ministry, we carefully screen all adult leaders with an extensive interview, a check on their references and a criminal background check. We want the very best leaders for our students.
Do students do fundraisers?
Yes they do. We want our students to take ownership for the life-changing events we attend each year. One of the ways they take ownership is by raising financial support in order to cut down on the total cost of the events.
