Short Term Missions
...whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me. Matthew 25:45
Peru Earthquake
In 2007, Peru was hit by a catastrophic earthquake, or more literally, a series of quakes and aftershocks. Chincha, near the epicenter of the quake, was devastated—people were killed, homes were destroyed, and infrastructure was decimated. Areas that before the quake only had limited services are now almost totally isolated, and the devastation lingers. In 2009, Oxboro sent a short-term mission team of men, women and teens to help build houses and to begin restoring hope...not in things of this world, but in God.
Oxboro Short Term Mission Trip
Oxboro sent another team to Peru in July, 2011 in conjunction with ReachGlobal (the missions arm of the EFCA) They spent their trip helping to rebuild 2 homes in Chincha. There is still much work to be done in this area and the team was much appreciated for their help in continuing the work. The 2 homes that our team helped with are now complete and the families moved in with great joy.
