As you probably heard, there is no real change to recommendations on churches gathering. I would imagine there is frustration for some of you, or confusion at some inconsistencies, as even Governor Walz acknowledged. Some churches are choosing to gather on June 7th, regardless of what has been recommended.

We will not join them in that. We will continue to follow the recommendations from the Minnesota Department of Health and our EFCA North Central District. We know the gathering of saints for corporate worship is foundational to our faith. I deeply miss it.

But I also know the church is more than a Sunday gathering. Until we gather together, we can still encourage one another by gathering in groups of ten or less. Reach out to others and extend an invitation. I met last night with guys in our small group and it was refreshing for my soul.

We can still look for ways to serve our community as we did through your generous support to Kennedy families. You can reach out to others in your neighborhood. We can reach out to one another through a phone call, email, or a text message. We can still gather in our homes on Sunday mornings at 10 am, to have a loose-sense of corporate worship as we open the Scriptures and sing.

Don’t grow weary or discouraged brothers and sisters in Christ. Keep pressing on. Our time of gathering corporately will come. It will be water for a thirsty soul. Until that day, keep moving closer to Christ as an individual and moving others closer to Christ in your words and actions.
